VA Quote It: Photo #5 (Rose and Dimitri)

This week, we have Vampire Academy Australia Fans of Vampire AcademyRed Carpet Endings, VAFandomUSA and VA Worldwide News joining ‘VA Quote It.’ It is a weekly feature where fansites have to guess the quote that matches the still and describe which scene they think matches it. Please keep in mind there might be SPOILERS if you haven’t read the books.

 VA Worldwide News’ Discussion:

Quote:
Rose: “You… you got rid of that dress fast, I thought you liked it.”
Dimitri: “I do like it, I love it.”

Describe the quote chosen:
Rose and Dimitri are having a passionate moment, they’re getting rid of their clothes and in the throbs of passion Dimitri is confessing what he truly thinks and feels about Rose. Rose asks Dimitri this question because she doesn’t think he finds her attractive, given that he’s never said or done anything to make her think he has feelings for her (up until this point).

Which scene do you think this still belongs to?
This scene belongs to the lust charm scene. After Rose finds out through the bond that Lissa is in danger, she inmediately goes to Dimitri (a voice in her head is telling her to find him). When she finds him, shirtless, they both fall into the lust charm of the necklace Rose is wearing.

DFGHJK VA Fandom USA’s Discussion:

 Quote:
Swallowing, I asked again,”Do you think I’m pretty?”
He regarded me with utter seriousness, like he always did.
“I think you’re beautiful.”
“Beautiful?”
“You are so beautiful, it hurts me sometimes.”

Describe the quote chosen:
This scene is more than likely when Rose goes to Dimitri’s room to let him know that Lissa needed their help. (Minimal spoiler here) They both were under the control of something that was making them expose hidden feelings to keep them occupied from going to rescue Lissa at this point in the story. The exchange is what occurred curing this time in the story.

Which scene do you think this still belongs to?
This scene is definitely when Rose goes to Dimitri’s room to let him know that Lissa needed their help. The only problem is that (minimal spoiler here) someone had given them something that made their secret feelings for each other surface. The book says they were almost naked on the bed, but maybe in the movie, they decided to keep them standing, as shown in the photo. Eventually after some heavy making-out, Dimitri figured it out and go rid of what was controlling them.

Red Carpet Endings’s Discussion:

Quote:
“You…you got rid of that dress fast,” I pointed out between heavy breaths.
“I thought you liked it.”

Describe the quote chosen:
I chose this quote because Rose is standing with Dimitri in her underwear. We all know she was not wandering the halls in her skivvies, so it only made sense that her dress was now laying on his floor.

Which scene do you think this still belongs to?
Rose and Dimitri are both under a lust charm thanks to a gift that Rose received from Victor Dashkov. A charm that was set in place to keep the two ahem…occupied while Victor carried out his plan to kidnap the princess.

Vampire Academy Australia’s Discussion:

Quote:
“You…you got rid of that dress fast,” I pointed out between heavy breaths.

Describe the quote chosen:
An effective tactic plotted by Victor Dashkov on the night of the dance. Using Rose and Dimitri ‘s lust and feelings for each other in order to power the lust charm spell to act as a diversion.

Which scene do you think this still belongs to?
No doubt the most popular scene in the book and one that is highly anticipated in the film. This still from the teaser couldn’t possibly belong to any other than the ‘Lust Charm” scene. We can all tell that they are in Dimitri’s room, the iconic duster hanging on the wall and possibly western novels on the desk. But how they include this scene cinematically could be different, they could either include the scene in its usual time in the story (after the dance). Or they could show it as a fantasy/dream in short snippets and use it earlier.

u Fans of Vampire Academy’s Discussion:

Quote:
Rose: “Do you think i’m pretty?”

Describe the quote chosen:
This quote is used when Rose tries to reach Dimitri during the lust charm. I think this is when she asks him if he thinks she is pretty because when she is in her underwears in the book, they are not talking much…so this quote might appear before the serious things happen.

Which scene do you think this still belongs to?
The lust charm when Rose asks Dimitri if he thinks she is pretty.
